Air Source Heat Pumps
Air source heat pumps (ASHP) extract heat from the air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from within. They increase that heat and transfer it into a property’s heating system through radiators or underfloor heating. They can be used in most properties and require minimal external space to locate them.
It is normally relatively straightforward to make the necessary internal connections which make these systems easy to retrofit.
Advantages of Air Source Heat Pumps:
- Very little outside space required for install
- No user maintenance required
- Fit and forget technology
- ASHP’s are the cheapest type of heat pump to install
- Easy to retrofit
- Qualify for the BUS grant
